The overall aim of this project was to promote female education through community mobilisation for increased acceptance of female teachers and higher retention of girls in secondary schools.
Female students, religious leaders, members of the school shuras and other community members.
Enhanced community support, especially from local religious leaders, for girls attending secondary school and the acceptance of female teachers.
Increased number of girls accessing and successfully completing education leading to a subsequent increase in the number of girls eligible to train as teachers for the future.
Strengthened and more gender balanced school shuras capable of identifying and effectively addressing problems concerning girls’ education.
Active school shuras capable of implementing self-initiated projects mainly on advocacy for girls’ equal right to education.
